Arkansas LEARNS Act Update - EFA Applications NOW Open!

June 28, 2023
By Stacy Discenza

Great News, the Arkansas Department of Education is now accepting applications from students to participate in Education Freedom Accounts (EFA) under the Arkansas LEARNS Act. Education Freedom Accounts, established by the LEARNS Act in March, is a universal school choice program that provides eligible families up to 90% of the state’s prior year per-student foundation funding amount for qualifying expenses at a participating private school. Eligible families may use Educational Freedom Accounts to cover private school tuition and fees, as well as uniforms, and other required expenses, if EFA funding exceeds tuition and fees.

Your student IS eligible to apply for an EFA for 23/24 if ANY one of the following criteria are met:

  • First-time kindergarteners
  • Students with a disability (as defined under IDEA)
  • Foster/former foster children
  • Children of active military parent
  • Students considered homeless
  • Students previously enrolled in an F-rated school
  • Students previously enrolled in a school district needing level 5 support

If you believe your student meets one of the above qualifications, please click here to register for an account and complete an application for an EFA as soon as possible. The priority deadline for applications is Aug 1st; however, funding is first come-first serve so don’t delay!

If your student received the Succeed Scholarship for 22/23 and you have not already completed the transition please use your Succeed credentials to login and complete your application. If you apply and/or are approved for an EFA, please forward confirmation to accounting@familychurchbryant.org so we can set up your FACTS payment plan accordingly.

Please Note: You may apply for an EFA prior to being accepted to a private school. Once accepted, you will simply update your school of attendance in your EFA portal.
